Ben Sinnott: Commanders Tight Ends 'Great'

    By Adam Schultz,

Washington Commanders rookie tight end Ben Sinnott has been putting his best foot forward this offseason, and with his three receptions for 57 yards against the New York Jets in a 20-17 loss, he's making everyone take notice.

But Sinnott didn't get here all by himself, he has his fellow tight ends to lean on, and with the likes of Zach Ertz, Cole Turner and John Bates, all of whom have experience in the NFL, Sinnott has a great group around him.

    And he knows it.

"It's a super tight knit group," Sinnott said . "We all really care for each other, we're brothers in there. Guys that really get along well and I'm so excited to see all of those guys be successful on the field. Obviously you saw it on Saturday, but it's a super talented group and we've got guys who can play. We all kind of have our own little niche, but I'm excited. It's a great group."

Sinnott's first outing in competitive NFL action was as good as one could hope for as his yards after the catch ability (41 of his 57) was on full display against the Jets.

When the regular season rolls around, offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury will look to utilize that with Jayden Daniels .

With so many weapons at this disposal, having a young tight end like Sinnott, who can take a quick five-yard pass and turn it into a 20-yard gain, will be invaluable for the offense.

The Commanders have a good mix of experience and youth in their tight end room, and Sinnott will continue to build on what has been an impressive offseason so far and put an exclamation mark on his first NFL preseason with big performances and a spot on the final roster.

And it's no wonder he's excited for what the tight end room can do in 2024.
