Former Michigan Football Staffer Connor Stalions Lands New Job

Connor Stalions, the man at the heart of the infamous sign-stealing scandal that rocked college football last season, has found a new home on the sidelines. The former Michigan Wolverines staffer, who became one of the most controversial figures in the sport, has been hired as the defensive coordinator at Detroit Mumford High School (MI.).

Stalions was the focal point of an NCAA investigation into an elaborate sign-stealing scheme that cast a shadow over Michigan’s recent success.

Allegedly, Stalions organized a network of individuals who attended games to gather signals from Michigan’s future opponents, leading some to question the legitimacy of the program’s accomplishments over the past three years. The scandal stirred debate across college football, with some even calling for Michigan's wins to be vacated.

Now, Stalions is trying to move forward.

Head coach William McMichael introduced his new defensive coordinator with a playful nod to the controversy. "I got the most hated man in college football right now, Connor Stalions," McMichael told The Detroit News .

The hire comes as Stalions is also set to be the subject of a Netflix documentary, Sign Stealer, premiering on August 27th.

With a new chapter beginning at Detroit Mumford, a program coming off back-to-back 1-8 seasons, all eyes will be on Stalions to see if he can make a difference at the high school level—without any extracurriculars.
