    Marlins Look to Play Spoiler Against Division Rival Mets

    The Miami Marlins are at Citi Field this weekend and will open a three-game series against their division rival New York Mets on Friday night. Miami split their last series with the Philadelphia Phillies and they will look to play spoiler on a Mets team in the hunt for a National League wild-card spot.

    New York is coming off a disappointing start to their homestand as they lost the series to the Oakland Athletics. They are two games behind the Atlanta Braves for the third N.L. wild-card spot.

    As for pitching matchups, the Marlins will send right-hand pitcher Roddery Muñoz (2-6, 5.67 ERA) to the mound. This will be his 15th start of the season. In his last outing, he went six innings allowing three runs on six hits in a no-decision against the San Diego Padres on Aug. 10.

    Muñoz's counterpart will be Mets southpaw pitcher Sean Manaea (8-5, 3.44 ERA). Manaea will be making his 24th start of the season. He last pitched on Aug. 10 against the Seattle Mariners and ended up being the losing pitcher after only going three innings giving up three runs on four hits and five walks.

    The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET. Marlins fans can watch the game on Bally Sports Florida. They can also listen to it on FOX Sports 940AM (WINZ) and WAQI 710.
