Michigan Makes Big Announcement For September Matchup Vs. USC

Michigan football is ranked ninth overall in the 2024-2025 preseason AP Top 25 rankings. The Wolverines are set to welcome new Big Ten addition USC football to the Big House in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 21.

On Thursday, the Michigan athletic department revealed its plans for a first-of-its-kind "stripe out" vs. the Trojans, a display of alternating maize and blue colors at the largest stadium in the United States.

Last season, the Wolverines went 15-0 en route to the program's first national championship since 1997-1998.

USC football is ranked 23rd in the 2024-2025 preseason AP Poll, one season removed from an 8-5 campaign.

The Trojans' high powered offense will be tested against Michigan football's talented defense led by preseason All-Americans Will Johnson and Mason Graham.

Last season, USC football finished 121st in the nation in total defense, 120 places behind the top-ranked Wolverines in that category.
