Diana Taurasi was issued her sixth technical foul of the 2024 WNBA season during Friday night's matchup against the Indiana Fever.

Taurasi was unhappy with a foul call on her Phoenix Mercury teammate Brittney Griner after Fever rookie Caitlin Clark drove the basket for an and-one finish. The veteran guard was quickly assessed a technical for arguing with a referee.

Taurasi is now one technical foul away from league punishment. By rule, any player who reaches seven technical fouls in a single season is issued an automatic one-game suspension.

Taurasi had four technical fouls as the WNBA reached its midseason break for the 2024 Paris Olympics. She was assessed her fifth technical of the season during a win over the Chicago Sky on Thursday night.

DT now leads the league in technical fouls this season.

A WNBA player has been issued an automatic one-game suspension for reaching seven technical fouls on 15 occasions in league history, according to acrossthetimeline.com.

Taurasi accounts for six of those occasions.
