Kalen DeBoer Makes Significant Change From Nick Saban Era

New Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer has made a major change since taking over the program from the legendary Nick Saban.

As the new coach, DeBoer will likely face intense scrutiny, as we've never seen before. Alabama has consistently been at the pinnacle of college football, establishing itself as the premier program in the country since Saban arrived in 2007. During Saban's tenure, the Crimson Tide secured six national championships and nine SEC titles.

While many Alabama fans were used to seeing the program operate in a certain manner, DeBoer has decided to do things his own way. One of those things was renovating his new coach's office.

It is evident that DeBoer and Saban have contrasting styles. Saban's office had a traditional, vintage look, while DeBoer opted for a more contemporary design.

Alabama is also expected to have a different play style on the field in 2024. DeBoer will bring over his successful offensive scheme from his time at Washington. During his two seasons there, he had a combined record of 25-3 and led the team to a national championship game appearance, where they would fall to Michigan.

While there were rumors this past offseason that starting quarterback Jalen Milroe would transfer after Nick Saban retired, he ultimately decided to return for his junior season. This was a massive win for Deboer, as Milroe is widely considered one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

Our first look at DeBoer's Crimson Tide will be on August 31 against Western Kentucky.
