What should've been an overwhelmingly happy night for the Curry family was soured by an unfortunate encounter with Paris police following USA Basketball's gold medal victory.

Video of the incident showed Steph Curry's wife, Ayesha, in a contentious encounter with law enforcement while trying to get to their car. Ayesha appeared to be in tears while holding her newborn child in the Paris streets.

Ayesha's mother-in-law, Sonya Curry, and Steph's Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green were also present for the incident.

Ayesha shared her first public comments since the incident on Wednesday, uploading a post on Instagram.

Despite this unfortunate run-in with police, Ayesha said her family still had an "incredible" time cheering on Team USA in Paris.

"A huge thank you to @airbnb for making our Paris stay so incredible. We had the best time celebrating and cheering on @stephencurry30 at the @olympics . Thank you!!!" Curry wrote as her caption.

Steph Curry played an invaluable role in the United States' run to another gold medal. The all-time great NBA point guard unleashed a barrage of three-point baskets in both the semifinals against Serbia and championship game against host-country France.

Steph and Ayesha have been married since 2011 and have four children together. The longtime couple celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary earlier this month.
