While the past several weeks have been spent watching the Olympics as Team USA went on to win their eighth consecutive gold medal in women's basketball, it appears that Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was using that time to improve her game.

As the WNBA got back into the swing of things this week, Clark put the entire league on notice with a standout performance in her first game back, putting up 29 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a 98-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury.

While WNBA fans across the nation took notice, one NBA legend in particular, Kevin Garnett, thinks that this type of performance coming out of the Olympic break may be a bad sign for the rest of the league.

Garnett points out that the Olympic break could have been just what Clark needed in order to settle into her professional career. With the rapid turnaround from NCAA tournament to WNBA Draft to the start of the season, it offers almost not time for a rookie to get acclimated. However, Clark was able to spend the last several weeks taking a beat and diving into her craft.

It resulted in a huge game against Phoenix and could lead to more stellar performances in the future.

Garnett may be right — that break might have been just what the doctor ordered.
