Shelomi Sanders, the youngest daughter of Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, chose to leave the University of Colorado and transfer to Alabama A&M, where she will be joining the women’s basketball team. Shelomi’s decision to transfer was not without challenges, particularly as it went against her father’s advice. In a recent interview, Shelomi revealed that her time in Colorado was marked by challenges, but thanks to a conversation with her mother, Pilar Sanders, she felt it was time to move on. “I don’t want to say anything too bad,” Sanders mentioned during the livestream . “It just wasn’t good energy. It wasn’t good vibes. There wasn’t enough being poured into me as a player and young lady. If I didn’t leave when I did, I promise you I would’ve quit.”

Shelomi started her college career at Jackson State, following a successful senior season at Rockwell-Heath High School in 2022, where she averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals per game. Now at Alabama A&M, Shelomi looks forward to thriving under the guidance of Coach Dawn Thornton, with two years of eligibility remaining to make her mark.
