Pitt Coach Pat Narduzzi Makes Bold 'Best Conference' Claim On ACC Football

The Atlantic Coast Conference has not had a national championship winning football team since Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne and the Clemson Tigers in 2018, but that that doesn't preclude them from making a 'Best Conference in America' claim according to Pitt Panthers Coach Pat Narduzzi.

Narduzzi shared his thoughts on The Jim Rome Show Saturday, including the ACC's academic achievements in his message to fans.

"The ACC is an incredible conference," Narduzzi said. "I think it's the best conference in America as far as academics go, and football at the same time."

Narduzzi added that he spent eight years in the Big Ten Conference, giving him added perspective on the situation.

"I believe the ACC athletically is an incredible conference, I think the quarterbacks we see in this conference, and it all starts with the guy pulling the trigger...I think we've defended as a defense here some of the greatest quarterbacks in the game.

"And I don't think that happens in every conference," Narduzzi added, saying that he believes the conference is disrespected at times.

The Panthers open the 2024 college football season at home against the Kent State Golden Flashes on August 31 at 12 p.m. ET.
