WATCH: Jones Connects With Slayton, Singletary Ties Game

    All is not lost.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones hasn’t had a good start to his Saturday. Two interceptions in his first three drives could’ve sent the passer spiraling and ended his season debut early.

Instead, he rebounded with his best play of the day.

On first-and-10 from the Houston Texans’ 45-yard line, Jones dropped back and looked to his left to see veteran receiver Darius Slayton beating his man on a streak.

For the first time in seemingly forever, Danny dropped his dime.

Jones’ pass was caught just short of the end zone, crashing near the pylon for a 44-yard gain.

On the next play, Giants running back Devin Singletary would finish the drive with a hop into the end zone, tying the game, 7-7.

Early in the second quarter, it was New York’s biggest gain of the day and by far the brightest spot in what’s been a turbulent start to Saturday’s festivities.

The pitch and catch brought Jones’ stat line to five of nine for 70 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. It was Slayton’s only catch and target in the early going.

Singletary, meanwhile, hasn’t seen much success. He ripped off a 10-yard run and has the touchdown to his name, but has just eight attempts for 19 yards thus far.

Expect the Giants to keep their offensive starters on the field for the rest of the first half.
