NFL legend Tom Brady is about to jump into a broadcast booth near you.

Well, first, near Cleveland. And notably, early enough in the season, near his old team from New England.

Again ... From what we currently know, he's scheduled to be part of the big game in which the Cleveland Browns play host to the Dallas Cowboys during Week 1 - that's FOX's "America's Game of the Week.''

But what about when he has to talk about his old Patriots team?

During a telecast of this week's Philadelphia Eagles vs. Patriots preseason game, the McCourty brothers seemed to let a secret slip ... mentioning casually that Brady is slated to be on call for the Patriots-Dolphins game that happens in Week 5 on FOX.

This is likely to be a weekly thing, especially for fans of the Bucs and the Pats, who call Brady "one of their own.'' Where's he working? When's he coming to our town?

And also on the national agenda? Is he any good at being a broadcaster?

As we all should know by now, Brady has had a lot of success at most everything he's tried - football especially.

On a podcast early this week, he explained why he loves the game of football so much. ... which might be the key to his success, past and future.

“It was never to be a champion,'' Brady said of his early motivation. "I love just throwing the football. When I throw the football and I see that ball spiral out of my hands, I’m like ‘Woo! Love that! You guys want to go to the beach? Let’s throw the football.’ I’ll have a hell of a time. We would laugh, we would probably play for three hours out there!''

He moved from the beach to the big time, as he won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots and then won his final Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

And now? Another big Brady move.
