It's been a bad stretch of baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals, and it's coming at a very inconvenient time. The Cardinals have now lost five games in a row after Friday's series opening loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers and now find themselves ten games outside the division lead. The team will look to get back on the right track with one of their younger pitchers on the mound in a nationally televised game on Saturday night.

Saturday, August 17: Andre Pallante vs. Bobby Miller

The Cardinals will start Andre Pallante (4-6, 4.21 ERA) for the middle game of the series on Saturday. He is coming off a no decision against the Kansas City Royals but bounced back nicely after a few rough starts. He allowed only one run to score on 5.2 innings of work. Pallante recorded four strikeouts but also allowed four walks in the outing, something that still needs improvement. He has allowed ten walks across his last four starts.

The Dodgers will go with Bobby Miller (1-2, 8.07 ERA) at Busch Stadium on Saturday. He will be making his eighth start of the season. His only win of the season came against the Cardinals in the opening series of the series at Dodgers Stadium. In that outing, he pitched six shutout innings against St. Louis.
