Anthony Edwards Earns Iconic New Nickname From Kevin Durant

NBA stars Anthony Edwards and Kevin Durant were recently at "Fanatics Fest" in New York City.

During their meeting at the event, Durant gave Edwards a new nickname, showing major respect to the young Minnesota Timberwolves star.

“Man, I call him the baby GOAT ," Durant said. "You know what I mean."

Edwards has been vocal about his admiration for Durant. He's called Durant his favorite player of all time on multiple occasions and has mentioned that he believes the Phoenix Suns forward is the greatest player in NBA history.

Durant and Edwards shared the floor, helping Team USA secure a gold medal in the 2024 Summer Olympics. They defeated France 98-87 in the Olympic final and ended the tournament with a 6-0 record.

They also have a competitive history in the NBA, with Edwards and the Timberwolves taking down the Suns with a 4-0 first-round series sweep in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs.

NBA fans seem to love the duo, with many knowing the history behind their relationship. Some commented on Edwards potentially playing with Durant in his NBA career, while others mentioned that the Suns star has taken the time to mentor the 23-year-old.
