Indiana Fever forward Temi Fagbenle is still not ready to return to WNBA action after missing Friday's showdown against the Phoenix Mercury .

According to the latest updates, Fagbenle will remain sidelined for the Fever when they take on the Seattle Storm on Sunday. The 31-year-old forward is currently nursing a right thumb injury, which she sustained on July 2 against the Las Vegas Aces.

Fagbenle hasn't played since suffering the health setback, and the showdown with the Storm will be the seventh straight game she'll miss as a result. It's definitely a concerning development since she had plenty of rest after the WNBA took a break for nearly a month to give way to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"Temi Fagbenle (right thumb) remains out for Sunday’s game vs. Seattle," Fever reporter Matthew Byrne shared.

It remains to be seen how much more time Temi Fagbenle will need to recover from her thumb injury, though there aren't a lot of games left for the Fever this 2024.

After the Storm clash, the Fever just have 12 regular season games remaining. So far in the campaign, Fagbenle has played in only 11 matches. She also missed a month of basketball action earlier in the season due to a foot injury.

Fagbenle is averaging 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, all while shooting 54.4 percent from the field.

The good news for the Fever is that they have been able to find ways to win even without Fagbenle. Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston continue to lead the way, with the team currently seventh in the WNBA standings with a 12-15 record. The Top 8 teams move on to the playoffs.

Hopefully, however, Fagbenle makes her return sooner rather than later in a bid to boost the Fever's postseason chances.
