Will Browns' Wills Jr. & Conklin Be Ready for Week 1? Stefanski Gives Update

    By Harrison Reno,

The Cleveland Browns ' 27-12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings has left them winless heading into their preseason finale matchup with the Seattle Seahawks, and they have major questions at offensive tackle.

The Browns' losing effort saw them lose James Hudson III , Germain Ifeidi, and Hakeem Adeniji to injury. While no official word on the potential severity of the injuries has been given, it is concerning nonetheless.

All three have been playing in relief, starting left tackle Jedrick Wills, who continues to recover from last season's MCL injury, and right tackle Jack Conklin, who is still overcoming a knee injury of his own.

With Week 1 of the regular season now three weeks away and the Browns not having seen their offensive tackles in action, it raises some eyebrows. However, coach Kevin Stefanski didn't seem concerned when asked about the status of his two projected starting tackles.

“I take it day-by-day, and they update me. When they’re ready, they’ll be ready," Stefanski said. "But they’re both locked-in, working very hard and we’ll get them back when they’re back.”

It's not exactly the update that fans have been waiting for. However, it is an update as the Browns turn the page toward their preseason finale versus the Seahawks.

With injuries seemingly piling up at offensive tackle, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Browns make roster moves ahead of their game in Seattle. However, that could depend on the injury updates they receive from the five guys they already have on the roster.

The Browns will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Lumen Field to take on the Seahawks. It will also be the preseason debut of starting quarterback Deshaun Watson , who will look to lead the Browns to their first preseason win. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 p.m. EST inside Lumen Field.
