Ex-Giant Barber Said What About Daniel Jones and Dak Prescott?

In the media, accusations of "homerism" run rampant. Perhaps it's part of the territory; other times bias can be left unchecked for a little too long.

Former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber took that to a whole new level when discussing Daniel Jones and Dallas Cowboys starting quarterback Dak Prescott.

On his afternoon radio show with Evan Roberts on WFAN in New York, Barber had one of the most outlandishly homer takes to grace the airwaves. While initially made in September of 2023, it resurfaced on Saturday and reminded fans of how inflammatory sports radio can be.

"I would take Daniel Jones over Dak Prescott 100 out of 100 times," Barber said. "And I think most people would agree with me based on where these the projection of where both of these players are going."

In five years as the starting quarterback of the Giants , Jones has amassed a 22-36-1 record as a starter with 62 career touchdowns and 40 interceptions. Aside from the 2022 season, he’s never won more than 5 games in a season as a starter.

Barber assumed Jones' progress would ramp up after his career-best campaign, despite looming regression and some unsustainably good luck.

Through Prescott’s first five years, he amassed a record of 42-27, compiling 106 touchdowns and 40 interceptions. He was also the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.

Now, we applaud standing behind the Giants starting quarterback, but Barber didn’t need to take it to this extreme.

Being hyperbolic is a part of sports radio, but at no point were people taking Jones over Prescott -- who has long teetered on the brink of superstardom -- 100 percent of the time ... even if they hate the Cowboys.
