Teenage Sprinter Quincy Wilson Goes Viral After Cool Interaction With Jay-Z

It's been a life-changing past month for 16-year-old U.S. sprinter Quincy Wilson. After winning gold in the men's 4x400-meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Wilson had the chance to meet the world-famous rapper Jay-Z on Sunday.

Wilson became the youngest male athlete to ever run for the U.S. track team at the Olympic Games. In just a couple of months, he went from competing against his high school peers to racing against the fastest men in the world.

Wilson and Jay-Z met at Fanatics Fest, a weekend-long event for athletes and fans.

In a video posted by @CitiusMag on X, Ryan Clark of ESPN brought Wilson over to introduce him to Jay-Z. It's unclear what Jay-Z said to the youngster, but based on the smile on his face, viewers can tell that it was a pretty cool experience for him.

The video has been viewed over 100,000 times, with over 300 retweets and 3,000 likes.

"So happy for this kid," a fan said.

A social media user shared, "This kid is having the best year of any 16 year old ever lol." Another supporter agreed, "boy having the best summer vacation of all time."

"He had a helluva summer," a commenter added

Wilson will start his junior year at Bullis School later this month, and he is already as decorated as they come in terms of wins and records.

At the New Balance Nationals Indoor meet last March 2024, Wilson won the 400-meter sprint and 4x400-meter relay (in which he served as the anchor), all while setting new national records in both events.

Months later, in June 2024 at the New Balance National Outdoor meet, he won the national championship again in the 400m sprint in record time. He also ran the anchor leg in the 4x400 relay once again, helping his school secure the top prize in that event. After the meet, Wilson was named an All-American.

Many would consider becoming an Olympian at 16 a major accomplishment. Some might argue that winning a gold medal is the ultimate goal. Quincy Wilson can proudly say he achieved both. His future, both on and off the track, looks exceptionally bright.
