Fans In Disbelief About Shedeur Sanders Going No. 1 In Latest NFL Mock Draft

When it came to the 2024 NFL draft, it was known for nearly two years that USC's Caleb Williams would eventually be the No. 1 pick.

When it comes to the 2025 NFL draft, there is not a consensus as to who will be taken with the top pick as we head into the upcoming college football season.

The general expectation is that it will be a quarterback, but which signal caller will be selected first overall is the biggest question. FanDuel has Georgia's Carson Beck as the favorite, but a recent NFL mock draft by Marcus Mosher of The 33rd Team went in a different direction.

Mosher had the New York Giants picking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders with the No. 1 overall pick.

This selection had fans on social media a bit conflicted.

"If Sanders goes number 1, he will be the biggest bust of all time," one fan wrote ,

"Shedeur is not even the best QB in that nation what are we doing here," another added .

"Deion is not letting Shedeur go to the giants 😂😂😂," another fan wrote about Sanders' coach/father Deion Sanders.

Mosher's explanation for the pick seemed to be quite straightforward in that he doesn't expect Daniel Jones to be able to save his job this season.

"It doesn't seem very likely that the New York Giants will end up with the No. 1 overall pick," wrote Mosher. "But they could easily move up to this spot if Daniel Jones doesn't take a major step forward."

While fans may be upset with the pick, Mosher did herald Sanders as a "prolific pocket passer" whom he feels is poised for a big year in 2024.

After two years at FCS program Jackson State, Sanders shined in his first year at the Power 5 level. He threw for a program-record 3,230 yards with 27 touchdowns to just three interceptions. The only downside to his game was that he was sacked 52 times, which is an issue that should be fixed in 2024, considering Colorado brought in around a dozen portal linemen.

It is also worth noting that just one pick after Sanders, Mosher had his teammate and two-way star, Travis Hunter, going to the New England Patriots.

Sanders and his Colorado squad will open up their season on Thursday, August 29 against North Dakota State.
