Bucs Will 'Never Find Out' Why Randy Gregory Did Not Report

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced back in April that they were signing veteran edge rusher Randy Gregory to a one-year, $3 million deal.

The problem is, he did not show up for any training camps, any practices, or any offseason meetings. So, the team was forced to release him in order to open up a roster spot for someone that will show up. Bucs head coach Todd Bowles recently talked about the incident and what led to the team cutting Gregory.

"I'll never find out, but I wish him the best and we'll move on from there," Bowles said. "Can't miss what you never had."

The team was hoping for another pass rusher, as they cut veteran Shaquil Barrett back in March. But, Bowles does not seem concerned, as he thinks the outside linebacker spot is one of the team's deepest.

Still, it would have been nice to have a veteran presence like Gregory coming off the edge. He played in 16 games this past season, and he recorded 3.5 sacks and forced two fumbles.

The Buccaneers will make due without him, but they would be lying if they said it wouldn't be nice to have him.
