The NFL regular season is just around the corner. On Sunday, the second week of preseason games came to an end. One key game was the San Francisco 49ers defeating the New Orleans Saints, 16-10.

However, the Saints suffered a concerning injury to 2024 second-round draft pick Kool-Aid McKinstry. The cornerback left the game due to an injury and was unable to return.

After the game, head coach Dennis Allen gave a big update on McKinstry, per Saints reporter Matthew Paras.

"I think we avoided anything serious," Allen said of the rookie's knee injury.

That's definitely a promising sign for the former Alabama star.

McKinstry was injured on the opening drive of the game after a collision with 49ers wide receiver Trent Taylor.

However, he tried to return and was seen on the exercise bike on the sideline.

Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo are both sidelined already for the Saints, so being without McKinstry would be a huge blow to the secondary.

Nonetheless, as of Sunday night, it doesn't appear to be anything serious for the Saints rookie.

The Saints finish the preseason on August 25 against the Tennessee Titans, and there should be a more form update before that game.
