Dennis Schroder's Kevin Durant Insult Has NBA Fans Waiting For A Response

NBA fans are anxiously awaiting a response from Kevin Durant after Dennis Schroder called him 'weak' as part of an ongoing feud between the two hoopers.

After the 2024 Paris Olympics bronze medal basketball game between Germany and Serbia, Schroder was asked about the differences in style between playing in the NBA and competing on the international stage.

"European basketball is no entertainment," Schroder said. "It's straight-IQ basketball, straight coaching, and really, really high-IQ guys who know how to play the game."

Durant took Schroder's comments to heart and decided there would be no better opportunity to respond than when he and Team USA secured the gold medal over France later that day.

"ENTERTAINMENT & IQ," Durant posted to X .

It wasn't until a few days after that Schroder discussed Durant's post on his Twitch livestream .

"For me, that's just being weak," Schroder retaliated. "You're that type of star, and you have to say something to a person like me who not even meant it to be negative. It was just what I see from both sides..."

Fans are speculating that Kevin Durant will react, as he is known to call people out on X.

"it's funny cuz Kevin Durant responds to any and everyone," one added.

"Another person calling KD “weak” for responding," said a fan.

Schroder and Durant both had an outstanding Olympics. Over seven games, the German averaged 17.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, while the American averaged 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.

The two will meet again on November 27 when the Brooklyn Nets play against the Phoenix Suns.

Fans are split on who to side with here. On one hand, people respect Schroder for standing up to Durant. On the other hand, Schroder is facing criticism for instigating the situation and then becoming upset when Durant confronted him.

"He's not lying," one wrote, defending Schroder.

"Nah Dennis made a statement about how US players are in comparison to overseas players and didn't expect he'd get a response from a NBA super star. Can't throw rocks and hide ya hand," added one, taking KD's side.

"I think KD was actually right with his response, but Schroeder is correct with THIS response too," said another.

"Sadly not a secret KD is the weakest star mentally in NBA history tho," one said.
