Guyton Earns Top PFF Grades Again in Preseason Win

Dallas Cowboys rookie Tyler Guyton has rapidly emerged as a key player on the offensive line, earning high praise for his performances in the first two weeks of the 2024 preseason.

Guyton, who was already a favorite to secure the left tackle position, has solidified his role after veteran Chuma Edoga’s injury in the preseason opener.

We've reported that Guyton's ascent was inevitable. What nobody could've predicted, though, is how impactful he's been early on.

According to Pro Football Focus ( PFF ), Guyton ranks as the highest-graded offensive tackle from the 2024 class, with an overall grade of 80.6, placing him 9th among all offensive tackles in the preseason.

Guyton’s individual metrics are equally impressive. He posted an 80.0 in pass blocking and a 78.3 in run blocking over 55 offensive snaps, including 29 in pass protection and 26 in run blocking. Despite facing intense competition and the pressure of stepping into a critical role, Guyton has allowed just one pressure and no sacks, showcasing his reliability and skill at the NFL level.

In Week 1, Guyton further established himself as a standout player, earning an 80.7 overall PFF grade, with an 83.8 in pass blocking and a 78.6 in run blocking. His seamless transition to the professional stage has not gone unnoticed, with All-Pro teammates and coaches alike praising his readiness and ability to handle elite defenders, including Micah Parsons , during training camp.

Guyton is now positioned to take over the starting left tackle spot, ideally providing much-needed stability to the Cowboys' offensive line. As the preseason progresses, all eyes will be on Guyton to see if he can maintain this high level of performance.
