Cam Newton recently made headlines for his strong defense of Deion Sanders amid a dispute with CBS. On his podcast, "4th&1 With Cam Newton," the former Carolina Panthers and NFL MVP expressed unwavering support for Sanders, emphasizing the need for greater accountability in media reporting. Newton criticized the tendency of media outlets to prioritize speed over accuracy, often resulting in misleading information. He firmly backed Sanders, saying, "He was right, and I'm doubling down on that," and “This is all about accountability here. CBS, you fu**ed up," calling out the network for its role in the controversy.

The situation began when Deion Sanders, head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, confronted CBS Colorado's Eric Christensen during Media Day. Sanders refused to engage with the network, hinting at an unresolved issue without detailing specifics. His stance was clear: he wasn't interested in interacting with CBS due to past grievances.

Despite the initial tension, Sanders later sought to mend fences, stating at an open practice in Denver that there were no lingering issues with CBS. He even offered to do a one-on-one interview with Christensen to clear the air. As Colorado prepares to face North Dakota State on August 29th, in their season opener, Sanders appears focused on moving forward, leaving the controversy behind.
