Mekhi Becton may be a former first-round talent, but injuries have ravaged his NFL career to the point that a position change is the only way for him to see the field with the Philadelphia Eagles .

The former Louisville product has taken well to his competition at right guard since signing a free-agent deal with the Eagles and even seems to be the favorite for the starting role in September.

That was, of course, before his injury suffered in practice last week.

Becton suffered a right leg injury that kept him out for most of Sunday's practice. He did not return to the field after trainers took him inside.

Despite the concern an injury like this could have on a team like the Eagles, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported Monday that the injury to Becton was not seen as serious and the former New York Jet would be back on the practice field shortly.

He was favoring his right leg in a practice session last week, but noted he was "good" and he "finished practice."

Becton joined the likes of Landon Dickerson who also exited practice on Sunday with his injury but the Pro Bowl guard is not expected to miss any time either.

Becton's injury is important because the Eagles have his immediate backup, Tyler Steen, recovering from an ankle injury at the moment.

Still, at least there's good news when it comes to Becton!
