Stat Indicates Stephen Curry, LeBron James Chemistry

Although LeBron James won MVP of the Paris Olympics, Stephen Curry played a major factor in the gold medal finish. It doesn't take much statistical research to realize how vital James and Curry are to any team, but a specific stat points to their Team USA chemistry.

Of Curry's 89 points scored during the Paris Olympics, 36 were courtesy of James' assists. James accounts for 40 percent of Curry's Team USA points.

Although it's unlikely the two will team up, witnessing the future Hall of Fame stars work in tandem made for compelling television.

Curry scored 17 first-quarter points in the Olympic semifinals against Serbia, keeping Team USA in fighting distance. Team USA recovered from a 17-point hole to clinch the gold medal game, with Curry and James leading the comeback.

The Golden State Warriors superstar finished with 36 points on nine made three-point shots. James recorded a triple-double, accumulating 16 points, 12 rebounds, and assists.

Without Curry and James, Serbia likely drops Team USA into bronze-medal territory. Fittingly, Curry and James' last game in the Olympics featured Curry exploding for eight three-point shots, including a miraculous deep bomb over France's Victor Wembanyama.

Perhaps the Warriors will create a roster that allows Curry to send them back to the NBA Finals. However, until then, the Team USA run is possibly the last championship run in Curry's and perhaps James' career.
