Same Gardner Minshew Joke Goes Viral After Raiders Make QB Announcement

The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback competition between Gardner Minshew II and Aidan O'Connell wasn't exactly riveting, but it was very important for the Raiders.

After a battle throughout training camp and the team's first two preseason contests, head coach Antonio Pierce ended up naming Minshew as the Raiders starting quarterback.

This is just the latest win for fans on Minshew mania, and unsurprisingly, fans were going crazy on social media. And now that he's set to start games for yet another team, fans were quickly making the same Minshew joke online that has been getting made for years.

For those unfamiliar with the reference, this is a picture of Minshew's face over the character Uncle Rico from the popular movie Napoleon Dynamite. The character humorously believes he could be an NFL quarterback, and looks quite similar to Minshew.

Sure enough, with Minshew being named the starting quarterback, the joke made a comeback on social media, indicating how excited fans are to see him back under center.

While there isn't exactly a lot of hope surrounding Las Vegas heading into the 2024 campaign, fans will be hoping that some Minshew magic can help lead them to some victories during his time under center.
