Deion Sanders has a warning for opposing offenses heading into the 2024 college football season.

This past weekend, Coach Prime raved about his Colorado passing defense led by superstar two-way player Travis Hunter.

“I feel pretty darn good,” Sanders said. “Throwing the football against us is going to be a problem. You can see the secondary is upgraded, as well. The back end, the safeties, they’re as physical as ever. Shilo [Sanders] is doing his thing. Cam’Ron [Silmon-Craig] is doing his thing.

“Trevor [Woods] is doing a wonderful job inside. [LaVonta] Bentley is doing a wonderful job, as well as [Jeremiah Brown], and so forth. Depth is a key ingredient that we have.”

In Sanders' first season as the Buffaloes' head coach in 2023, Colorado ranked 124th in terms of passing yards allowed. The secondary gave up 3,323 yards on the season for 276.9 yards per game.

Sanders hired longtime Cincinnati Bengals assistant Robert Livingston as the program's new defensive coordinator/secondary coach earlier this offseason. The team also added cornerback Colton Hood and linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green through the transfer portal.
