Damian Lillard Doesn't Hold Back On Not Getting Enough Credit

For over a decade now, Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard has maintained his status as one of the NBA's elite guards.

His toughness, clutch performances and unlimited range make him a dangerous offensive weapon every night. He's earned seven All-NBA nods and eight All-Star appearances.

Lillard and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry made logo three-pointers a common thing, with many young guys, even in the amateur ranks, now emulating them.

The 34-year-old Lillard, however, believes that he doesn't get enough credit for being one of the league's top shooters in history. He shared the thought when he appeared on the " Club 520" podcast .

"It's different, bro," Lillard said, noting that he's already entering his 13th year. "They definitely don't talk about it. They act like I don't be doing what I have been doing.

"It ain't been that many people that have been here the whole time since I've been in the league that have just been doing it over and over and over. But I think people just get bored with consistency."

Lillard, who was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, is fourth in the NBA's all-time three-pointers ladder with 2,607, only behind Curry, Ray Allen and James Harden. He's a career 37.1% shooter from beyond the arc.

The former Portland Trail Blazers guard also said he's one of the most consistent stars in the league, noting that he's been putting up over 25 points per game for nearly a decade already.

"I ain't loud, but like s***, I've been doing it that long and winning," added Lillard. "It ain't like I've been doing it and I'm just playing for a team that never makes the playoffs."

His first season playing alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't bear much fruit, as they lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Indiana Pacers. But the 73 games he played were his most since the 2018-2019 season as he was hobbled by injuries in recent years.

Safe to say, with Lillard's self-confidence, he'll use any form of disrespect as fuel to play even better.
