Browns Proposed Trade for Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb Sends 4-Time Pro Bowler to Dallas

The Cowboys have a problem in Dallas. Wideout CeeDee Lamb hasn't shown up for training camp as he awaits a new deal.

Heavy.com's Max Dible has an idea that could pay Lamb now, but it's not in Dallas and involves a trade. Dible proposes a trade that would bring Lamb to Cleveland and ship out injured running back Nick Chubb to Dallas.

Lamb is entering the final year of his rookie contract that will pay him just shy of $18 million. For a top-5 receiver in the NFL, that's grossly underpaid, and he knows it. Lamb awaits an acceptable offer from the Cowboys while the regular season opener looms large on Sept. 8 - in Cleveland.

In Cleveland, efforts to sign former Cowboys and current Browns standout Amari Cooper have stalled, although he's received a raise for 2024 and is - at least temporarily - happy.

Chubb is recovering from a gruesome knee injury suffered in Week 2 last season, but would immediately be the best running back on a Cowboys roster that includes an aging Ezekiel Elliott as the starter. Rico Dowdle, Malik Davis, Snoop Conner, Royce Freeman, Hunter Luepke, Nathaniel Peat and Deuce Vaughn are all on the training camp roster, but none have shined this preseason.

A return date for Chubb has not been announced but he's expected back at some point early in the season.
