    Jannik Sinner's Name Cleared In Doping Scandal Despite Positive Steroid Tests

    Jannik Sinner , the number one ranked tennis player in the world, has been faced with a robust amount of controversy over the last few months, but on Tuesday he was finally able to put all of it behind him after the facts were revealed.

    It was announced Tuesday that Sinner f ailed two anti-doping tests after testing positive earlier this year in March for a banned substance called Clostebol .

    However, due to Sinner appealing the acquisition, It was never made public until Tuesday. In a way, it was a successful appeal . He was still stripped of all the prize money and points earned at the tournament in Indian Wells, California, that was during the time period where he tested positive. But he will not be suspended and miss any time after an independent tribunal came to the conclusion that it was not intentional.

    "Following that investigation, the ITIA accepted the player’s explanation as to the source of the colestebol and that the presence of the substance was not intentional. We thank the independent tribunal for the speed and clarity of its decision in relation to the player’s degree of fault.” CEO of ITIA Karen Moorehouse said.

    According to ESPN , Sinner tested positive for the same anabolic steroid that MLB superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. tested positive for, which led him to be suspended.

    Sinner and his team released a statement on Tuesday, with the hopes of putting this entire unfortunate situation behind him.

    "I will now put this challenging and unfortunate period behind me." Sinner's statement read.

    The appealing period allowed Sinner to remain competing on all tours while they investigated the situation. Now, he can remain in action, with the U.S. Open starting next week.
