Few homegrown talents every are able to dominate at a high level for the team they spent their college years for.

Defensive back Ja'Marcus Ingram is getting that chance with the Buffalo Bills.

An undrafted free agent out of Buffalo University, Ingram has been on the Bills practice squad for each of his first two seasons with this being his third with the team.

His work ethic and practice results have stood out the most to this point as he tries to finally crack Buffalo's 53-man roster this season.

"He practices the same way," Bills head coach Sean McDermott said. "His teammates love him, they respect him for the way he works and all of the work he puts in physically, all of the work he puts in on the mental part of the game. I’m just real proud of him."

Ingram is considered an immediate backup right now for the Bills cornerback room behind Christian Benford. While his roster spot isn't exactly guaranteed at this moment, he's as close as ever to finally being active on gameday.

It's also why the Bills remain impressed with the Dallas native.

The more Ingram plays, the more he improves and that's exactly what the Bills are counting on in 2024.
