The Philadelphia Phillies (73-51) as a whole were not able to hit their way out of a wet paper bag for the better part of a month after the All-Star Break. After last week's 4-2 homestand, things seem to be back on track.

That rings doubly true for Phillies' shortstop Trea Turner . Turner was in the biggest slump of all of the Phillies hitters, but after a day off on Wednesday to get his head straight, a very strong four-game weekend series landed Turner his second NL Player of the Week award of 2024.

In the four-game weekend series, Turner would go 10-for-17 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI, and a walk-off single in Friday's game.

Turner's strong series has the Phillies hopeful that he can get back to the levels of production that he provided the club upon returning from the injured list earlier this season.

    Turner, 31, enters Tuesday with a career .297/.350/.483 line with 164 home runs, 553 RBI, 274 stolen bases, and a 121 OPS+.

This season, Turner has batted .311/.356/.486 with 14 home runs, 43 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and a 135 OPS+.

Turner has only played in 83 games this season due to a left hamstring strain. He was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 4th and was activated on June 17th.

This NL Player of the Week award is the fourth of Turner's career. His first came on October 3rd, 2021 while with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His next two before this week's came with the Phillies on September 3rd, 2023, and April 21st, 2024.
