Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is known for recognizing the hard work and determination of players, especially those who contribute from the depth of the roster. Following the Bills’ preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers , McDermott singled out cornerback Ja’Marcus Ingram for his standout performance and unwavering commitment.

“He practices the same way,” McDermott said of Ingram. “His teammates love him, they respect him for the way he works and all of the work he puts in physically, all of the work he puts in on the mental part of the game. I’m just real proud of him.”

Ingram, who stands at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, joined the Bills as an undrafted rookie in 2022. His journey to the NFL has been anything but conventional. After starting his college career as a walk-on at Utah State, Ingram transferred to Texas Tech before finishing his collegiate journey at the University at Buffalo. Despite the challenges, Ingram’s perseverance has paid off.

Over the past two seasons, Ingram has played in five games for the Bills while spending time on and off the practice squad. His determination and resilience have earned him a spot as the team’s fourth cornerback, behind starters Rasul Douglas , Christian Benford , and Kaiir Elam .
