Auburn’s 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes are under construction with several prospects still uncommitted or possibly changing their college choice to the Tigers. Here’s the latest intel.

The drawn-out recruiting saga around quarterback Deuce Knight could produce change before the end of August. Coming from Lucedale (Miss.) George County, Knight is a consensus 4-star recruit by Rivals, On3, ESPN, and 247, so he would bolster Auburn’s recruiting ranking which currently sits at No. 6 by On3, No. 5 by 247, and No. 6 by Rivals.

As for the latest on the 6-foot-4 and 210-pound signal caller, 247’s Tom Loy provides some insight on what’s next for the talented prospect.

“Knight informed 247Sports that he'd be at Auburn for the Tigers' season opener Aug. 31 against Alabama A&M.

“From what we've gathered, the reason behind the trip is to see Auburn in action. He's seen all he needs from Notre Dame and Ole Miss . He wants to make a decision, one way or another, in the next few weeks.”

Knight’s recruitment can sometimes be hard to read. Committed to Notre Dame since Sep. 18, 2023, he is involved with at least three different college football programs – the Irish, Auburn, and Ole Miss – who could eventually gain his services on National Signing Day, Dec. 4.

For now, multiple points of intel project Auburn getting Knight to change his commitment. More will be known after he makes the trek to the Plains for the Alabama A&M game.

Considering Knight's all-around physical tools as a passer, plus his tremendous athleticism including a vertical over 42 inches, it's not surprising he's ranked highly and coveted by Power 4 college football programs like Auburn.

    From eight 2023 games, Knight's statistics include him completing 103 of 199 attempts, 51.8%, 1,607 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. As a runner, 70 attempts, 344 yards, a 4.9 average, and 10 touchdowns.

In addition to Knight, look for several local recruits to be in attendance for at least the first home game. The Tigers open the 2025 slate with five consecutive games inside Jordan-Hare Stadium so there could be more recruiting momentum with prospects seeing what the football program offers on a fall Saturday.
