It's no secret that Kalen DeBoer faces immense pressure as the new head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Not only is he succeeding a coaching legend, but he's also leading a team that is arguably still in the midst of a dynasty era.

That has left some to question whether DeBoer is up for the challenge. One caller on "The Paul Finebaum Show" thinks so. He suggested that DeBoer might be the second coming of Nick Saban due to his past success. However, the SEC Network analyst quickly dismissed this idea, stating that coaching at Alabama after Saban is one of the most difficult things in the entire sport.

"I don't know how you can make that statement," Finebaum said. "I don't want that to come across as a slam on Kalen DeBoer. But it doesn't really matter what you've done before you get to a school like Alabama. You are inheriting a mantle that's one of the most difficult in the entire sport."

Finebaum stated that DeBoer was hired because of his impressive record. However, Finebaum has also seen several failures at places like Alabama during his career. Finebaum clarified that he's not suggesting that DeBoer will fail but that his past successes do not guarantee future success.

Ultimately, Finebaum believes that DeBoer will succeed during his tenure, but he thinks it's ridiculous to claim he's the next Saban.
