The Las Vegas Raiders played their preseason home opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday, and they lost by a score of 27-12. Although the team suffered a loss, and there were certainly some unencouraging aspects of the game, there were some bright spots.

Two of those bright spots came at the receiver position, from Tre Tucker and D.J. Turner. With Davante Adams and a couple of other starters on the offense sitting out , Tucker and Turner each got chances to prove themselves.

According to a recent article from Silver and Black Pride , those two played very well.

In an overall ugly performance, Tucker seemed to be the biggest bright spot on the team by far. Tucker made use of his speed, catching three passes for 66 yards, good enough for an impressive 22 yards per reception.

Tucker made himself known in the return game as well. He was very solid returning punts, taking his two opportunities for 48 total return yards, which was good enough for a very impressive average of 24 yards per return.

Turner was very solid. He made himself a bit more available on some shorter passes, hauling in five receptions for 31 yards. While he didn't pick up as much yardage, he broke a lot of tackles, and did pick up a few first downs, showing awareness as to where he was on the field.

Behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers, the Raiders are in need of a true third receiver. Both Tucker and Turner have impressed throughout the preseason now, and seem ready to step up and fill that role.
