The Delaware State football team was scheduled to fly to Hawaii on Tuesday for their Week 0 game against the Rainbow Warriors on Saturday, August 24.

Unfortunately for the Hornets, they missed their flight to the Aloha State due to what was reported to be a "travel snafu" with their bus that was taking them to the JFK Airport in New York.

Following the incident, the program's spokesperson revealed that they were looking for a solution.

"We’re working on a plan," said the program's spokeswoman.

Leading up to the flight itself, the program's head coach, Lee Hull, made it quite clear that it was not smooth sailing by any means when talking to HBCU Gameday.

“Still, today people coming in – 'Oh we got an issue here, we got an issue there. What are we doing here,'" Hull said . “You know, so that last-minute stuff that comes up because of the the long flight. You know we got to drive to JFK which is three hours away. And then we got a direct flight, which is another 10.5 hours. So yeah, but we’re looking forward to it.”

A report by 247Sports ' Brandon Marcello later confirmed that the program has since re-booked their flights and are still scheduled to arrive on time tomorrow. Marcello also revealed that the program had included an "extra day" in their planning before the game to account for any issues that they may have.

The two teams are scheduled to play on Saturday at 6 p.m. local time or midnight ET.

According to ESPN , Hawaii has a 99% chance of winning the game and is favored by 39 points.
