Jose Quintana will be on the mound for the Mets. Quintana soared in July, with a 2.05 ERA in five starts. The veteran has not had the same success in August. He has a 6.89 ERA in his three August starts.

Quintana really disappointed in his last outing. He was handed a 5-0 lead against an unimpressive Athletics lineup and he let the A’s get back in the game. Quintana walked four batters and gave up four runs in only four innings.

Quintana will look to get back on track against a tough Orioles lineup.

Here is how Baltimore lineup against Quintana:

    1.) LF Austin Slater

    2.) 1B Ryan Mountcastle

    3.) SS Gunnar Henderson

    4.) RF Anthony Santander

    5.) DH Eloy Jiménez

    6.) CF Colton Cowser

    7.) 3B Ramon Urías

    8.) C James McCann

    9.) 2B Jackson Holliday

    SP Dean Kremer

There is a familiar face in the Orioles lineup. James McCann is back at Citi Field. McCann held the Mets catching position for almost two seasons. Things never worked out for McCann in New York. The Mets infamously signed McCann over J.T Realmuto. The comparison was constantly made and it did not do McCann any favors.

McCann was the face of the Wilpon-run Mets, trying to cut corners when they could. Mets fans took their frustration out on McCann. McCann really struggled in New York. Except for some short stretches, McCann was an inadequate starting catcher.

McCann has found a nice role as the backup for the very talented Adley Rutschman. McCann had a great game against the Mets last year. He clearly was playing with extra motivation, going 3-3 with 5 RBI. McCann will also have added motivation in his first game back at Citi Field.

It is a little surprising to see McCann in the lineup today. McCann has hit .190 in 21 at bats against Quintana.

Dean Kremer has the ball for the Orioles. Kremer has had a very up and down season. He has struggled to put together a stretch of good outings. Kremer is coming off a very nice start against the Nationals. He will look to have another good start today.

Here is how the Mets lineup against Kremer:

    1.) SS Francisco Lindor

    2.) 3B Mark Vientos

    3.) LF Brandon Nimmo

    4.) DH J.D. Martinez

    5.) 1B Pete Alonso

    6.) RF Jesse Winker

    7.) C Francisco Alvarez

    8.) 2B Jeff McNeil

    9.) CF Tyrone Taylor

    SP Jose Quintana

After just one day off, Brandon Nimmo is back in the lineup. Even though Nimmo’s MRI came back clean, the expectation was that Nimmo would sit at least a couple games. However, he is such a competitor. The veteran feels good enough to go today and Manager Carlos Mendoza is putting trust in his leader.

Tyrone Taylor is also getting his third straight start as Harrison Bader sits. Taylor had a clutch two out RBI yesterday. He made a mess of a routine play in the last game when he played center. Taylor will look to make up for it today.

    How to Watch
