Simone Biles Reveals 'Insane' Moment While Partying After Paris Olympics

Simone Biles could have needed to pawn off a gold medal to pay for her celebration after the Paris Olympics.

The U.S. gymnast opened up about an "insane" moment when she and others went out to celebrate in Paris after the closing ceremony. In a TikTok video posted on August 19, Biles said the nightclub she attended tried to stick her with a five-figure bill.

“We had closing ceremonies at the Olympics. I went, and after that, we went out,” Biles said. “You guys, this club tried to charge me $26,000 for a bottle of Champagne.”

Biles said she passed on the expensive purchase and held some animosity for the club for trying to charge her so much.

“Like, are you insane?” she asked. “Obviously, I didn’t buy it. But why would you even try to play me like that? Like, that’s wild.”

The bill would have wiped out almost all of the bonus pay Biles earned for one of her gold medals. As CNBC reported , the United States awards $38,000 for every gold medal won at the Paris Olympics. Biles, who took home two gold medals and one bronze, earned a total of $137,000 in bonus pay for her performance at the Paris Olympics.
