Saquon Barkley Injured? Eagles' Runner Dealing With Back Injury

The Philadelphia Eagles have put forth the most physical training camp under Nick Sirianni's leadership in 2024.

That has led to some pretty important injuries overall for both sides of the ball. The latest of which comes at a player with prior history and a major contract.

Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia's new top running back, tweaked his back in Tuesday's practice and did not return to team drills for the remainder of the period.

While Barkley did sign autographs and seemed in good spirits following the day, his injury history certainly is something the Eagles need to monitor. Especially with the former New York Giant signing a three-year, $37.75 million deal with the Eagles in the offseason.

Barkley was New York's feature back for six seasons while recording over 5,000 yards as the former second-overall pick of the 2018 draft.

Over the course of his run in New York, Barkley suffered a torn ACL and multiple ankle sprains that cost him 22 games in each of the last four seasons overall.

The good news, of course, is that his injury isn't considered serious at this time.

While he's expected to be ready to go to start the season, the Eagles need to make sure Barkley is ready to go and 100% for the upcoming season.
