The Texas A&M Aggies have gone about everything quietly in the past few months during the first offseason of the Mike Elko era .

Gearing up for a 2024 season in which they may be capable of surprising some people due to a relatively easy schedule and expectations that are far from through the roof nationally, the Aggies have the attention of some very prominent media members.

Josh Pate of the Late Kick called the Aggies on his show the 'most fascinating' team in the country as they get set to put toe to leather just 11 days from now when they host Notre Dame at Kyle Field in week one on August 31.

"Structure and organization are important words here. They hired Mike Elko and no one made a big deal about it, everyone was busy talking about [Kalen] DeBoer to Alabama, everyone was busy talking about everything other than football. And they killed it," Pate said after naming them as his most fascinating team. "Sometimes coaches inherit an underrated situation that just needs the right thing injected into it...he upgraded it overnight [at Duke]. That only is possible if you have something there to work with. If you have to burn it down and start from scratch, forget all that. But he didn't have to do that at Duke, and he doesn't have to do that at A&M either."

If Elko can have the kind of impact at Texas A&M that he had at Duke, where he took a 3-win program and made them a 9-win program in his first season, the sky is absolutely the limit for what he would be able to accomplish in College Station .
