For the second consecutive week, Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie center Graham Barton was rated very highly by Pro Football Focus.

PFF gave Barton a 77.3 game grade for his play against the Jaguars on Saturday. That grade ranked seventh amongst first-round draft picks, and the only rookie offensive lineman that graded out higher was the Cowboys' Tyler Guyton.

After the Buccaneers' first preseason game, Barton was given an 85.2 game grade by PFF which was second-best among all 2024 first-round picks.

Barton was recently just named the starter for the Bucs and his play in preseason has shown his ability to anchor down the offensive line and give the team much-needed help up front.

Barton was battling with center Robert Hainsey for the starting job, but it was clear since the start of training camp that Barton would likely win the job, and PFF seems to agree with that thought process.

Despite playing most of his snaps at left tackle during his collegiate days at Duke, Barton has had no problems snapping the ball and has been dominant in the Bucs' running game creating ample amount of space.

The Bucs think they have addressed their No. 1 offseason need with the addition of the Duke product Barton, and here is what head coach Todd Bowles said following the decision to name Barton the starter ...

“We knew he was tough. Just how fast he picked it up. The experience he has been getting, the way he’s been finishing plays, and [his] pass protection has picked up a lot.”
