It could be easily agreed on that most people involved with social media understand or have seen different tier lists for numerous different topics.

Tier lists was originated in the video game world, in which many gamers would rank certain games or characters in different tiers. Each tier has its own ranking meaning, meaning it could be good, great, middle of the road, or bad. All tier lists are based on subjective ranking, meaning its based on personal opinion or feelings.

Fox Sports' own Joel Klatt revealed a special tier list of his own, and the topic revolves around the 2024 college football season and what moment will define a team's success. The list was revealed by his show's X account, The Joel Klatt Show .

To no one's surprise, Georgia and Ohio State headline the top tier by being predicted by Klatt to reach the National Championship Game. However, something sticks out within this list, especially if you cheer for the Crimson Tide.

It appears Klatt put the Tide in a tier where they will reach the College Football Playoff, up to the quarterfinals. To many Alabama fans, anything short of a national championship victory is a failure of a season. However, to a group of other Tide fans, reaching as far as the playoff under a new head coach should be celebrated as successful.

Alabama has been the hottest topic in all of football, and many still debate if they can continue their dynasty, or if the Nick Saban retirement marked it as the end.

Regardless of early speculation and criticism, a few facts remain in which Alabama fans need to be reminded of often.

First, while it is still early for Kalen DeBoer, he has found success in recruiting at the highest level, which is the SEC. With the addition of Akylin Dear commitment, which was announced on Tuesday, Alabama has seven commits listed in the Top 50 in the 2025 recruiting class.

Second, DeBoer's coaching record cannot go unnoticed. He is a winner. Wherever he has been, he has found success. Let the 2023 Washington Huskies be the prime example. He coached an undefeated team, led them to a playoff invitation and a national championship appearance, and had a Heisman candidate as his quarterback with loads of NFL ready talent along with him. This Alabama team will be the most talented roster DeBoer has ever coached.

Lastly, DeBoer understands the 'Alabama standard.' Sure, his coaching tactics may not resemble what Saban possessed, but his relationship and care for his players and their development, both on and off the field, should easily create ease within the fanbase.

Back in January, offensive lineman Tyler Booker provided his thoughts on the transition to DeBoer. The quote was provided by secrant.com .

“Coach DeBoer has already made a great first impression,” Booker said. “The people who have entered the portal really didn't give him a shot. They probably already had their mind made up that they were going to leave. In my mind you've got to give it until the spring. You gotta give the guy a shot. I feel like (Director of Athletics Greg) Byrne made the right hire. I'm very excited to see how successful we are with him.”

“Coach DeBoer, he's come in and he's brought a lot of new energy, a lot of young energy and I think he's gonna do a great job with the program. He’s definitely a player's coach. He listens to our opinions and what we have to say and what we think on certain aspects of the team. For him just coming in and allowing us to voice our opinion, allowing us to have input on certain things and allowing us to tell him the traditions that we like, and the traditions of Alabama, since he essentially doesn't know anything about the university. Coach Saban had his way of doing things that worked for 17 years. So yeah, it’s great to have a coach like DeBoer where you can build a relationship with him, and we’re definitely off on the right foot.”
