76ers' Tyrese Maxey Names Major Change in Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers added Paul George to their ranks this summer on a four-year, $212 million contract to form arguably the best trio in the league alongside Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid. There is a lot of excitement about how the three will fit into Nick Nurse's plans.

Embiid and Maxey have been teammates for four years, and that partnership has thrived recently, with the latter developing into a superstar over the past couple of seasons.

The 76ers rewarded Maxey's growth by handing the 23-year-old a $204 million, five-year max contract this summer.

As Maxey has grown, he also has witnessed Embiid develop into his leadership role over time.

Maxey said in a recent interview on the 76ers' YouTube channel : "He didn't talk as much when I first got here. Now he's extremely vocal. Now he's talking to everybody. Now he's being more of a vocal leader and a franchise leader that we need him to be."

It is brilliant to hear about how Embiid has become more vocal over the years and is taking on the responsibility of being a leader. If the 76ers are to seriously compete for a ring, they will need character like that in the locker room.
