Michael Johnson is a four-time Summer Olympics gold medalist with plans to change the way the sport of track and field is viewed year-round with his new Grand Slam Track league.

According to Johnson, the goal of the league is to provide a golf or tennis style track and field league with four "Major" or "Grand Slam" style events each providing a grand prize of $100,00 for first place and $10,000 for last place, which he says is equivalent to the first-place prize of a top track circuit.

Johnson took time out of his busy schedule to discuss the league with TMZ.com, during which he revealed his thoughts on 2024 Summer Olympics gold medalist Noah Lyles.

When asked about the possibility of Lyles being added to his league, Johnson did not hesitate.

    "Absolutely," Johnson said.

"Noah's certainly one of those, I mean Noah is the fastest," Johnson continued. "I mean so he's...Those sorts of people the Noah Lyles', Julian Alfreds' who is the 100-meter champion, Gabby Thomas, 200-meter champion...Those sorts of athletes are the people that we want to be part of this league.

"But we also need and we want their rivals as well, not just them by themselves, they need to be challenged so we will have their rivals as well and we're really excited about that."
