Contract Concerns? Josh Allen Pleased With Bills' Deal

In the modern NFL, quarterback contracts have inflated to a point where even the most mediocre of signal-callers could make upwards of $40 million.

That leaves many of the league's elite to get their payday as quickly as possible.

In the case of Josh Allen, his six-year, $248 million deal signed in 2021 paid him an annual average of around $43 million - just $3 million more than Daniel Jones, but less than the likes of Jared Goff, Kyler Murray, and even Kirk Cousins.

While many players could look at this like a slight, Allen is of the opinion that he won't need a new deal just yet - nor is it a sign of Buffalo's lack of trust in him.

"Listen, everyone is going to have their day," Allen said Tuesday. "I'm happy that everyone is getting what they're worth, right? I think as the game progresses and guys keep getting paid, the market is the market. And I've got no problem with where I am at (financially) right now."

Buffalo has had to make significant cap decisions following Allen's contract with the release and trade of Jordan Poyer, Tre'Davious White, and Stefon Diggs.

While his deal is a sign of where quarterback contracts once were at, Allen isn't looking for a deal just yet - which is great news for the still cap-constrained Bills.
