It’s 10 days from the Miami Hurricanes playing at the Florida Gators. Here are two points to consider as the big game in The Swamp draws closer.

First, the Canes are coming off two seasons where road games were a problem. The 2022 schedule includes UM going 3-2 on the road; 2023 has the Hurricanes with a 2-3 road record. Most notably, Miami’s offense could be considered abysmal in several of those games like the contest at North Carolina State last season.

With Cam Ward under center, UM’s offensive attack should be more consistent and still explosive; perhaps it will be more explosive.

Second, Miami’s defensive front brings back several key players and adds talented transfers like defensive tackles Simeon Barrow, Jr . and C.J. Clark . Could this be Miami’s best defensive front seven since the early 2000s?

That’s a tough question but one worth asking. For Miami to get back to being a college football championship contender, another level of defensive performance must be achieved. This front seven – with its talent and depth – will help lead the way.

Kai Madison Trump Will Come To The U

Donald Trump’s granddaughter, Kai Madison Trump , will play golf or the Lady Hurricanes.

The granddaughter of the 45th President of the United States writes on her X page, “I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Miami. I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey. I would also like to thank my great team for getting me to this point.”

    Miami Women's Basketball Announces Tryouts

The basketball team will be holding tryouts for walk-ons to play for The U. It’s a post that went up on X just a little while ago.

Miami Men's Basketball Is Also Back On The Court

UM's men's basketball program looks to rebound from last season's disappointment. The Canes are back on the court and getting ready for the 2024-25 schedule, per yesterday's post on X:

With transfers like former Virginia Tech center Lynn Kidd and freshman guard Jalil Bethea , there's plenty of new talent playing for Miami this season. It will be interesting to see how the returning Canes mesh with the new faces on the roster.
