Team USA Legend Crowns Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry didn't need the 2024 Paris Olympics to solidify his basketball career. However, his performances against Serbia and France put the juiciest cherry on top of his decorated basketball career. Team USA legend Carmelo Anthony is no stranger to the Olympics, having won three gold medals.

In the wake of Curry's outrageous two-game stretch, Anthony commented on the Golden State Warriors superstar's place in the game.

"He's the greatest shooter I've ever seen. He's a hell of a player. He is a great player... He's one of the greatest players to ever grace this game," Anthony said on his co-hosted 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast. "I don't think we probably will ever see this again. Let's appreciate this window of what we have with Steph."

To paraphrase Anthony Edwards, Curry didn't significantly contribute to Team USA until the semifinals against Serbia. However, without Curry, it's highly plausible Team USA would have lost to Serbia. Team USA trailed by as many as 17 points until its game-sealing 24-8 run to defeat the Nikola Jokic-led roster.

Curry went out with a seismic bang in his first, only, and last Olympic campaign. The Warriors star scored 60 points in Team USA's final two games, including a fiery performance vs. France in which he converted a heavily contested three-point shot over Victor Wembanyama.

Curry's Olympic performance was so memorable that it spawned a potential trademark.

Anthony recently said he wouldn't trade his gold medals for an NBA championship. Such a statement showcases his love for the Olympics, and Anthony's going out of his way to crown Curry speaks volumes about the Warriors' influence on basketball.
