Gymnast Simone Biles' return to international competition following a devastating run at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a near two-year break from the sport was a triumphant journey. Biles, who won three gold and one silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, returned home as the most-decorated gymnast in U.S. history.

Not only did Biles compete in more events than any of her teammates, she performed the hardest skill in the entire Olympic competition, the Yurchenko double pike, a.k.a. The Biles II. She's the only woman to ever land the insanely difficult vault in international competition.

While vault is Biles' best event, the apparatus is also triggering for the 11-time medalist. During the Tokyo Games, she started to suffer from a condition known as "the twisties" while attempting to land the Yuckhenko double pike, and ultimately pulled out of competition.

Reflecting on her famous vault, which few men have attempted and earned a standing ovation multiple times in Paris, Biles shared a strong message on no longer having to do the jaw-dropping skill under the Olympic spotlight.

"Getting up and not having to think about doing a yurchenko double pike is a blessing," Biles posted on Threads.

One fan replied, "You have made your mark boo! Time to go have some fun and just live life. You are the GOAT and it will be a long time before anyone ever compares." Another person wrote, "You deserve a break champ!"

The 27-year-old superstar, who became the oldest woman to win the all-around gold medal since Maria Gorokhovskaya (30) at the Helsinki Games in 1952, and the only American to earn the title twice, left the door open for return for the 2024 Olympics games in Los Angeles.

"Never say never," Biles told reporters after winning gold during the Vault Final on August 3. "The next Olympics is at home, so you just never know, but I am getting really old."
